EA finally announces Alice: Madness Returns

July 20th, 2010, was a landmark day for us here at Spicy Horse as EA finally lifted the media embargo and allowed us to start talking about the story that has been nearest and dearest to our hearts for the better part of two years, the sequel to "American McGee's Alice".  EA made its formal announcement at the EA Showcase in San Francisco.

Titled "Alice: Madness Returns", the 2011 game will see an older, wiser, gainfully-employed Alice living in London, and then she is somehow drawn back to Wonderland.  The specifics of the story?  That's just something you're going to have to wait to find out!  The important parts, of course, include that concept art and screen shots have been released - and will continue to be released - and that there has been some phenomenal response to the teaser trailer.

Among many of the news reports that were released, GameSpot showed the entire showcase in one feed, and then afterwards our own R.J. Berg and American were interviewed by Sophia Tong of GameSpot.  Later, we got to see another interview by G4 and we also peeked at the advance of Alice on the September cover of GamerPro.

EA for their part has made sure that there are plenty of ways to keep track of the news as it comes out.  In addition to the forum that we ourselves host, we also have an EA-sponsored Facebook page for Alice: Madness Returns, we have a general page for American's games on Facebook, we have a Spicy Horse Community page on Facebook, American has his own Twitter feed as does the White Rabbit, and then there is the blog and the the main website.  As we draw closer and closer to Launching Day, you can rest assured that there will be much more material released.

In fact, to hold you over until the merchandising announcements are made, you could enjoy your very own Vorpal Blade.
